Camper Van Technician
Nook Vans — Los Angeles, CA (On-site)
ABOUT THE ROLE
Nook Vans is seeking a skilled Camper Van Technician to join our build team. This role focuses on the fabrication and installation of systems and components.
We build premium camper vans designed to last. Our shop values craftsmanship, collaboration, and problem-solving. This role is ideal for someone who wants to work on unique, high-end projects and take pride in building the future of camper vans. Work is performed both in the shop and inside vehicles, often requiring employees to work in confined spaces and perform tasks such as kneeling, bending, and overhead work. Team members may also be exposed to dust, loud noises, adhesives, and finishes, requiring PPE in some situations. All necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Construct and install water, power, and hvac system as well as other components mounted to the vehicle.
Follow SOPs and instructions for installation
Conduct work in an efficient and timely manner
Maintain fit, finish, and durability standards set by Nook Vans
Communicate clearly with team members across fabrication, install, and engineering
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Experience installing diesel hydronic heater systems
Experience installing pumped water systems
Experience with electrical and electronics
Ability to modify or adapt third-party components for custom applications while maintaining a clean fit and finish
Understanding of interior and exterior installation best practices for vehicular use in Mercedes Sprinter chassis
Comfortable with:
Power tools
Metal cutting tools
Reading schematics, plans, and instructions
Measuring, layout, and precision tools
Preferred (not required):
Finish upholstery experience
Metal fabrication
CAD familiarity (Fusion 360, SketchUp, or similar)
Spray finishing experience (HVLP or similar)
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT
Nook Vans provides all primary tools, machinery, and equipment required to perform this role in accordance with California labor laws.
Employees may choose to use personal hand tools (such as measuring tools or small specialty items) at their discretion; however, personal tools are not required for employment.
All required safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided by the Company.
QUALIFICATIONS
At least 2 years of professional camper van systems installation experience
At least 2 years of professional camper van component installation experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to Commute: Los Angeles, CA 90018 (Required)
Able to stand and walk for extended periods; use hands and arms for -handling, reaching, and tool operation. Frequently lifts up to 75 lbs. and occasionally more than 100 lbs.

PAY & SCHEDULE
Pay Range: $22.00 – $35.00 per hour
Compensation is based on experience, skill level, and demonstrated craftsmanship.Full-time, on-site position
Monday – Friday schedule 8am - 4:30pm
Non-exempt (hourly)
Overtime paid in accordance with California law
Paid on a regular payroll schedule in accordance with California law
