Nook x Ford Transit
Since founding Nook, we’ve focused on Sprinter conversions as our main offering.
The Mercedes Sprinter is a premium vehicle with a devout following of camper van owners. We stand by its reliability and drivability, and that’s why we have primarily built on it for over six years.
Over time we realized one platform doesn’t fit every client or every build. That’s why we are proud to now offer Nook builds on two chassis — the Sprinter and the Ford Transit.

There’s a lot to love about the Mercedes Sprinter as a platform for a van conversion.
The Sprinter is the long standing gold standard in van builds, with a strong resale value and longer interior options. It has an efficient diesel-powered engine and a stable long-distance driving feel. It also boasts a very robust suspension.
Some people have concerns about maintenance costs and the cost of diesel long term, as well as the higher upfront cost of the van itself. Despite that, we believe the Sprinter is still an excellent value for van-owner who want a premium driving experience and a long-lasting vehicle.
The Ford Transit has its own benefits; most notably a lower price point and a taller interior.
The lower price point of the Transit chassis allows budget-concious clients more room for their build. Our Classic model starts at about $120,000, and we recognize the cost of the build plus the cost of a Sprinter can be a stretch for some people. With the Transit we are able to offer the same quality build at a lower overall cost.
The Transit also boasts an extra 4” of head room plus boxier walls, which can make all the difference for taller individuals or people who want ceiling mounted features like an elevator bed or interior surf racks.
With a simple gas engine and a large nationwide Ford service network, the Transit can be easier to maintain, but this potential perk really depends on your driving needs and location.
There is no better or worse chassis, just one that is better for you and how you use it.
We are excited to guide you in selecting the right chassis for your build. Ultimately, the chassis is just the foundation. It’s an important component, but the build and how you use it is what really matters. Whichever way you go we offer the same unique features, including our rear bath gear garage Utility Spa, elevator beds, full kitchens, and more.
